Newsflash

As an MC member in an expansion, I finally realize how a blog can be neglected like this! In a nutshell..here's what's happened since my last post:
  • Kicking off the Entrepreneurship Project! (4 TNs raised!)
  • Recruitment (welcoming new members from Jordan University, Yarmouk University and the Princess Sumaya University of Technology)
  • SG meetings galore - and a new addition to the SG - Dr. Musa Lozi
  • Tamer's country visit!
  • Saying goodbye to Rachel and Vincent, realizing a 3rd EP (Khalid from Irbid went to Bosnia) and welcoming our 3rd TN realization for the year - Barbara Mayer-Scholl from Germany
  • Signing our second partnership - with Sustainability Excellence Arabia - with 2 TNs raised - 1 realized (Barbara) and extremely exciting Corporate Responsibility learning programs in the making
  • Conference! Woot! Which went amazingly well thanks to Momani as Conference Manager, Lonneke (Qatar/NL) as Chair, the Pirates OC team (Ahmad, Salem, Dunia, Huda and Dana) and a supercool faci team (Abdo - Egypt, Heidi - Australia & Inna - Russia)
  • Up next: January Legislative Meeting (featuring MCP Elections & MCVP Confidencing!!), welcoming our 4th TN realization - Julius from Germany, Bridging the Gap Learning Event, Entrepreneurship Networking Fair, EP selection, Launch Event...
...and while the list goes on and on, I can't believe six months have already gone by! Stay tuned to see what the Generation of Achievers in AIESEC's Official Extension to Jordan does in the next six months :)

Exciting News!

It is with great excitement that we announce that AIESEC in Jordan has just signed a Grant Agreement with USAID/SABEQ to receive funding for one year, to support AIESEC in two aspects:
  • Entrepreneurship Project: Developing Jordanian Youth through Internships
  • Institutional Capacity Building
This grant has come through after over 6 months of hard work, and we're extremely excited and over the moon here to be running full scale implementation of our initiatives!

We'd like to thank the MC for 2006/2007 - especially Annika Rudback and Monika Gmucova for all their work on developing the relationship with USAID, and writing and rewriting the Grant Proposal and Budgets..this wouldn't have been possible without such a fantastic start up team in Jordan!

Looking forward to an extremely exciting year :)
