On Amman

Amman as a typical world’s capital is a huge city, with lots of super modern shops, hectic lifestyle and never ending traffic.

However, at the same time some parts of Amman keep the old traditional part of what we call Arabic welcome!

Among the white houses, and the sights of yellowish desert tress you can feel the atmosphere which catches your heart and makes the whole experience so much more special.

It is so much also about the people. They have time to stop and talk to you, ask you where you are from, discuss latest events and try to teach basic Arabic.

Especially downtown seems to bear this exceptional welcome which makes every single walk around the market or Roman theater or Amman Castle so delightful.

Every day free of regular work we go to the downtown & enjoy the feeling there.

Some favorite places of ours which you should definitely put on your agenda when you come here for a conference or CEED:

Eco-Tourism Café, which has actually little in common with nature reservations or any other similar matter. On the other hands, it is a splendid place located in the heart of Amman, with the flags of different counties on its walls & delicious mint tea.

Hashem, ever popular traditional food restaurant; probably the oldest in Amman, but it’s always winning our hearts when compared to any other fancy place.

Ammoun café, a hidden place close to the busy main road, which offers finest coffee, tea and warm atmosphere, among …the TREES! (Quite rare in the deserted city like Amman)

These are the places to which we’ve been coming over and over again in the first weeks of our stay here.
